A wave is a turbulence in space that transfers energy from one point to another. The simplest physical waveform is the sine wave. Mathematically, sine waves can be drawn on a coordinate system consisting of X and Y axes. The Y axis describes both positive and negative values. A sine wave varies cyclically on both sides above and below the Y-axis and is symmetrical to the X-axis. The most positive value is at the peak. This value is also called the amplitude peak and represents the greatest distance of the magnetic signal from its zero point. In bioelectric medicine, this amplitude peak or wave intensity is measured in Tesla (formerly Gauss).
A magnetic wave that has alternating poles (e.g. both positive and negative peaks or cycles) is called a bipolar wave. Magnetic waveforms can be manipulated by changing the electrical impulses that create the wave. This is usually done by computer control. By combining electrical voltage changes, so-called pulse packages can be created to produce a desired biological effect. The most important parameters are the rise and fall times of the wave(s). According to Liboff, the therapeutic effect of an electromagnetic wave is highly dependent on the characteristic of how quickly the rise and fall times of a wave occur. The signal characteristic is probably the most important component of the 4 parameters of an electromagnetic signal. An abrupt fall time represents a very high peak current value, which is responsible for the ionic shift in the body. The greater the ionic shift, the more intense the biological effect. In contrast to a sine wave or a static magnet, the waveforms used in the PEMF devices iMRS prime and Omnium1 systems generate a significantly higher electromotive force at the cell membrane, within the cells and in the body tissues. The “sawtooth” and “square” pulses used have rise and fall times that are much more abrupt than a conventional sine wave.
The iMRS prime and Omnium1 systems each include a whole body applicator that generates a triple sawtooth pulse. This waveform is a combination of many harmonic, non-sinusoidal signals in the low frequency range (between 0.5 and 15 Hz), known as the “biological window”. Magnetic field intensity
The components responsible for the flux density (amplitude) of a magnetic field are the wire length and diameter of the coils, the number of turns and the current (amperes) applied to the coil. Together with the induction constant and the specific resistance of the material, the flux density (magnetic field strength) can be calculated.

The rate at which a vibration changes is called frequency. Vibrations spread out in waves. The distance from one wave peak to the next is called a cycle. A cycle contains both a positive peak (above the zero line) and a negative peak. The unit for this cycle is 1 Hz = one Hertz (in honor of Heinrich Hertz, a 19th century German physicist who discovered electromagnetic waves for the invention of radio). A frequency of 25 Hz corresponds to 25 oscillations (cycles) per second. Sine waves are simple oscillations used to transport energy within a given medium; the more oscillations per second, the greater the energy transfer per second. Most of us are familiar with light energy and light waves, also known as photons. However, visible light is only a very small part of the entire electromagnetic spectrum.
Similarly, sound or tone waves are only a small fraction of the total sound spectrum, and the human ear is only able to detect and respond to a very small spectrum in this range. In the application of bioelectromagnetic signals, the general rule is that the higher the frequency, the more energy is carried. However, based on Ross Adey’s principle of the “biological window”, it is also true that each individual cell in the body (just like the human eye or ear) only gives a positive response (resonance or coherence effect) to a very specific, very narrow frequency spectrum.
If our organism does not have access to these natural vibrations (e.g. by working in closed buildings made of steel or concrete, by driving a car or by electromagnetic exposure to high-frequency sources such as computers, mobile phones, microwaves, wireless technologies, Bluetooth, radar, satellites, etc.), we humans become much more susceptible to diseases, metabolic activity is restricted, the immune system is weakened. Recorded strong fluctuations within the Schumann resonances on Earth could be linked to heart attacks, car accidents and a general increase in mortality (Beck 1992).
Today, there are a variety of frequencies and frequency bundles being researched and used in classical medicine. The predominant approach is the targeted application of PEMF for well-defined indications (e.g. repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation = rTMS for depression). Frequency ranges from extremely low (ELF), 3-300 Hz, to an upper limit of 50 billion Hz (50 GHz). For holistic and safe home therapy, it is advisable to opt for medical devices certified according to the new MDR standard (2017/745) that operate in the ELF (Extremely Low Frequency) range. These systems generate waveforms (sawtooth and rectangle pulses) which, due to their physical properties, not only produce a variety of nature-identical frequencies, but also the necessary fast rise and fall times of the pulses, which are responsible for the important resonance effects on as many body cells as possible.
A well-known practical example is a child’s swing, which behaves like a pendulum. If you “push” the swing at the exact moment of its natural oscillation interval (i.e. its resonance frequency), the oscillation will increase to its maximum amplitude (strength). Only a relatively small amount of force (intensity) is needed to do this. Any attempt to increase the amplitude of the swinging motion outside the resonance frequency will result in a weakening or even a standstill of the motion. According to this, the greatest possible resonance effect is always achieved when one “resonates” exactly synchronously with the identical fundamental frequency, thereby amplifying the natural oscillation.
This is especially true for “unnatural” frequency ranges in the KHz and MHz range, such as those used by mobile phones, wireless technologies, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and various household appliances. Local PEMF therapy with an iMRS prime or Omnium1 system via a pillow or spot applicator is not subject to the Chinese organ clock, as the focus of local application is on the elimination of an isolated indication (e.g. wound healing, bone healing, improvement of peripheral blood circulation, pain relief).
